In our collection, you'll find collections on various topics.
Stottele Collection
The Stottele Collection is a collection of picture books, children’s books, and young adult books that currently comprises approximately 6,300 titles and is constantly expanding. You may use and borrow these materials for teaching purposes, for internships, or as part of seminars. The collection is located on the ground floor on the right-hand side at the end of the room.
When searching the catalog, you’ll find the items in the collection under the “Reading Lists” section.
Wilhelm König's Württemberg Dialect Archive
Over the course of decades, the Reutlingen-based poet and collector Wilhelm König compiled the collection’s dialect works. It includes materials in Swabian and other regional dialects.
His own books, the works of the late teacher-training college professor Norbert Feinäugle, and books by other dialect authors can be found there, along with dictionaries, cookbooks, gardening books, and works such as “d’ badische Struwwelpeter” and “Asterix em Morgaländle.”
The collection is located on the ground floor of the library on the right-hand side, in front of the Stottele Collection and across from the current periodicals.
Rara Collection
Rara refers to books that are difficult to replace or particularly valuable. All books listed in the catalog with the location “Circulation Desk/RARA” can or must be reserved via our online catalog, as the Rara collection is not freely accessible. You’ll find the order button on the right-hand side of the online catalog page when you select a book.
Please log in with your ID number and library password and order the book you need. You can pick up your ordered books at our service desk the day after tomorrow during service hours. The books may only be used on-site; they cannot be checked out. Due to the age of the books, copying pages is not permitted. Please use our book scanners on the ground floor for this purpose.
Please note:
You must return the book to the service desk no later than when the circulation desk closes.
You may arrange with us to have the book set aside at the service desk so that you can use it again the next day.
