Zotero
Zotero is a free reference management program that can be used on all major operating systems (Windows, Mac OS, Linux).
With Zotero, you can
- collect and manage your references,
- import references from academic databases and library catalogs,
- automatically format your bibliographic data and create reference lists in term papers, theses, dissertations, or manuscripts,
- create notes for entries, link related entries/notes, tag them, and create thematic folders and collections.
To capture references directly from your browser, you’ll need the Zotero Connector. A plugin for your word processor (Word, LibreOffice, etc.) is automatically installed along with Zotero.
Optionally, you can create an online user account to
- access your data online from any computer
- synchronize data across different devices
- work collaboratively in groups
