Rara

Rara refers to books that are difficult to replace or particularly valuable. All books listed in the catalog with the location “Circulation Desk/RARA” can or must be reserved via our online catalog, as the Rara collection is not freely accessible. You’ll find the order button on the right-hand side of the online catalog page when you select a book.

Please log in with your ID number and library password and order the book you need. You can pick up your ordered books at our service desk the day after tomorrow during service hours. The books may only be used on-site; they cannot be checked out. Due to the age of the books, copying the pages is not permitted. Please use our book scanners on the ground floor for this purpose.

Please note:
You must return the book to the service desk no later than when the circulation desk closes.
You may arrange with us to have the book set aside at the service desk so you can use it again the next day.

reaLLab

The reaLLab (formerly the Elementary School Center) at the Weingarten University of Education offers a wide range of activity-based materials designed to support engaging and holistic instruction in standard elementary school subjects, as well as materials for courses at the PHW. You can borrow these materials and use them in seminars, at school, during training courses, or at other practical training facilities. The facilities are located on the second floor of the Fruchtkasten and are accessible to both prospective and experienced teachers during opening hours. In addition, during opening hours and at joint activities and events, there is an opportunity to exchange experiences and network.

realLab has many years of experience through various practical projects with schools in the region and also assists with arranging internships, implementation projects, and lesson examples.

Reference Works

You can find printed reference works in the open-stack section of the university library, organized by subject. Electronic reference works are available through DBIS (Database Information System).
